School Supplies for Fines
Through Saturday, July 29th patrons may clear overdue fines by bringing one packaged school supply item for each dollar of fines owed. School supplies will be collected at the Main and Vista Grande branches. Accepted items include, but are not limited to: Crayons – 24 pack, Thin Highlighters, Construction paper, package of Glue Sticks, package of Pencils, Pencil holders, Facial tissue, Duct tape, Two pocket folders with brads in the middle and Backpacks ($5 off fees) Fees cannot be waived for lost or damaged materials. Items will be distributed by the Casa Grande Elementary School District.
Mayor’s Reading Club Meet & Greet
Join us as we kick-off the new season of the Mayor’s Reading Club! Guests will be invited to meet the Mayor, ask questions, and apply to participate in the program. Refreshments provided by APS

Scholastic Book Fair at the Libraries
This weeklong event features cases full of affordable books based on characters and subjects kids love and want to read about. From newly released books and best sellers to award-winning titles and perennial favorites, every book is hand-selected by Scholastic experts and chosen from dozens of other publishers. During this special event, all items will be buy one get one FREE. (lesser priced item will be free)
The book fair will be open during regular library hours through July 22 at both branches of the library.
Come to the Vista Grande library to learn about the largest social networking site in the world. Students will learn what takes place when you post on Facebook, how to like a post, how to add a profile picture, and much more. Wednesday, July 19 at 11:00 a.m.
Basic Internet and Email
Come to the Main Library to learn how to search, navigate, and browse the internet as well as the basics of using email. Thursday, July 20 at 2:30 p.m.
INKLINGS Adult Writers Group
Vista Grande’s adult writer’s group INKLINGS will be meeting Thursday, July 20 at 2:30 p.m. All aspiring writers are encouraged to attend.
Family Storytime and Craft at Main
The whole family is welcome to join Youth Librarian, Ms. Julie, for a short program with stories and songs followed by a craft. Parents/guardians are required. Tuesday, July 18 from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m.
Drop-in Craft at Main
Kids are welcome to ‘drop-in’ to the Main Library anytime between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 20th and complete a craft project to take home. Parents/guardians are required to assist their children. Crafts generally take about 15 – 20 minutes to complete.
First Things First Fun Van
The Fun Van is a FREE program for parents/grandparents/caregivers and accompanying children ages 0-5 years old. This program can foster a love of books by developing a habit of reading with your child from a variety of quality literature you borrow and return each week. It also teaches parents reading strategies to expand their child’s thinking and promotes language and literacy development. Fridays: 8:00 a.m. to 10: a.m. at Vista Grande Library and at the Main Library from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
